My family and I served in Mexico for almost eleven years. The last six and a half of them were spent in the state of Nayarit, working with the Huichol Indians. The work there grew to five churches that are reaching out into fifteen other villages. Each has its own national pastor and they are supported from within their church or from other churches of like faith within Mexico. They are supporting five missionaries. There are two established Bible Institutes and they have thirty students collectively.
God began to direct us to Asia after much prayer and seeking of His will. The top ten un- reached people groups start in Mongolia and go down through the Middle East and Ethiopia. He laid upon our hearts the vast amount of people with very little missionaries. We began praying about the country of Mongolia. Soon thereafter, the Lord gave us definite direction through His Word and leading of the Holy Spirit. There are several different people groups there. We began working with a nomadic, sheep herding people. We were located just 125 miles south of the Russian border. We worked with the people to establish the church in the town of Khatgal, Mongolia. We were able to see the Lord help them build their own church building, get their doctrine straight and learn to reach out to their community and beyond. We worked training nationals to plant churches.
God closed the doors for us to have a residency in Mongolia. This led us to seek alternative ways to reach the unreached peoples of the world. God opened a door for us to partner with firstBible International. We are working with them in the area of national training in countries that are somewhat open, training the nationals to reach their surrounding people groups in countries that are closed to the Gospel. The Lord has been opening doors for us and we are excited to see what God has in store for us. We began in the country of India, in the far northeast part of the country known as Nagaland. You can see a video of our last trip by visiting the firstBible website. Here’s a link to help you get there, http://firstbible.net/media-menu . Just click on the “Nagaland Review”, second video on the right. We have also began to work in the country of Armenia. Very soon we will be able to post a video of the trip to Armenia. The first trip was this June. I was unable to go because of an accident, but the trip was very successful in preparing the road to national training in this country. Tammy and I will be going to Armenia in March of 2016. We plan to follow up and continue to train nationals in both of these countries each year, as well as add new countries as the Lord opens doors. We have invitations to at least 2 more countries at this time.
